Dare We Recall?

Paths crisscrossing
in Life, this miracle . . .
the violet candle burns so slowly, still . . .
Giving us time to recall the Great Mystery.
You are the Blue Star Fire
Shining . . .
Light years between us . . .
Your glow and my bright lavender flame . . .
Feels like yesterday
I want to say
Silence
We hold one another
So gentle and steady . . .
I hear us giggling together
Children . . .
Giggling to pieces
Melting into one another
Gaily, ever-so-gaily
Weíre recalling the very mystery
which unites us all . . .
But the masks we wear
So firmly fastened . . .
You hold your ground
I hold mine.
Still, somewhere deep within us both
We remember . . .
The Earth is ours, as we are Hers
And she sheds two tears
One of joy and one of sadness
In hopes that we may soon dare to recall
And sing and dance
In this recollection.

Earth Day Interactive

In the dark of the night
there erupts a fight, but . . .
Letís keep working on this.
In the shade of the tree
litter do I see?
Letís keep working on this.
Gray clouds in the sky
another eye for an eye.
Letís keep working on this.
Chalk one up for the lottery
anotyer human in poverty.
Letís keep working on this.
Brutish and mean,
who threw trash in that stream?
Letís keep working on this.
Now this day has begun
With an ode to the sun.
Letís keep working on this.
Join in the dance
the innocent romance.
Letís keep working on this.
So much to learn
Many truth to affirm.
Letís keep working on this.
Within us all lies the fool
a radiant jewel.
We ARE working on this.
